Dear Visitor,

The year 2022 signifies a very special landmark year in the history of our company. We at Exide are celebrating the seventy-five years of our existence as a corporate entity. Seventy-five years ago, a factory was set up on the bank of river Hooghly to manufacture lead acid storage batteries for the burgeoning Indian economy.

Over the next seventy-five years the company went on to become not only one of the finest and largest lead acid battery makers in South Asia, it also became an important wealth generator for the society, employing thousands of people directly in its plants and offices and lakhs indirectly through its vast vendor and dealer network. For each of these 75 years, Exide has had the unique distinction of being a profitable and a dividend paying company.

In these seven and a half decades the company has expanded from a single factory in West Bengal to a manufacturing behemoth with plants in seven states in India and a significant presence abroad. During this period, the company also expanded its product range to include everything from the smallest motorcycle battery to the very large submarine batteries.

Today Exide is not just the leading name in automotive batteries. It has an innovative energy storage solution for every conceivable need in the society and some of them are pioneering products that were first conceived and introduced by Exide in the country.

But it is very important to remember that this manufacturing and marketing prowess of Exide, coupled with its strong balance sheet, are the result of the core values that the company has always believed in and will continue to believe in in the future. In all these years Exide has never deviated from its core principles of ethical conduct and its trust and belief in its own people. While wealth creation for the shareholders and the society at large will continue to be the focus of all our activities, we are very clear that we will achieve all our corporate objectives through honest and ethical means. We shall never compromise on this front.

While we are legitimately proud of our past, we are equally excited about the future. The world of energy storage systems is at an inflection point presently. Not just in India but globally. Electric vehicles are already a reality. We might debate about how long it will take for them to replace the conventional internal combustion engines but the direction is all set for the future. However, we don’t envisage lead acid storage battery disappearing overnight. While we shall embrace new technologies in the field of e-mobility, we will certainly not give up our space in the conventional lead acid battery space which may continue in some specific segments for some time to come.

By employing the best technology, we will continue to create value for the society, our customers, our employees and all our stakeholders.

In this 75^th year we have planned many exciting activities throughout the year, involving our employees and our customers. I am sure you will find them exciting and be a part of our celebrations.
